Smack My Ass Shrimp Scampi Recipe

Shrimp scampi is so deliciously buttery and velvety to the tongue. There aren't many recipe out there like shrimp scampi, it's just so unique and beautiful. We offer up our Madness style version of tasty shrimp scampi with plenty of flaming habanero pepper heat, along with chili powder and other fun seasonings. Enjoy.
Smack My Ass Shrimp Scampi Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp or prawns
- 2 habanero peppers, chopped
- 1 stick butter
- 8 garlic cloves, finely diced
- 4 teaspoons white cooking wine
- 4 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Cooking Directions
- Season the shrimp with chili powder, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.
- Heat a sauté pan to medium heat. Add olive oil, garlic, and habanero peppers.
- Saute about 1 minute and then add butter and melt down.
- Add shrimp and simmer 3-4 minutes or until shrimp is thoroughly cooked through.
- Add white wine, lemon juice, lemon zest and parsley.
- Stir quickly and serve.
We served ours over angel hair pasta with some grilled tomatoes. If you prefer your scampi sauce to be thicker, breadcrumbs work fairly nicely.
